As the end of the year slowly creeps up on us, I can’t help but feel a little melancholic.
At this time last year, I wrote a blog post about setting intentions rather than resolutions and I honestly think that that was the best way to go in order not to have too many expectations.
That being said, I can safely say that 2017 rocked my world in so many ways (even the unexpected surgery on June 30th followed by a month of recovering on the couch was a blessing in disguise!)
I travelled A LOT this past year, mainly to the U.S. (15 states in all) and visited some pretty cool bakeries and restaurants including the Pioneer Woman’s Mercantile AND her lodge (and I found her chocolate stash!)
I spent a week in Massachusetts in the Berkshires and we visited my sweet goddaughter twice in Ottawa. Add quite a few local day trips in between that and we can basically say that we spent a lot this year in the car. Thankfully, that is where I do my best thinking!
However, the best part of the year was something I wasn’t even expecting : I found my tribe!
In January, I had just finished reading Gabby Bernstein’s book “The Universe has your Back”. Little did I know that in June, I would head to New York to complete her Spirit Junkie Masterclass Level 1 and that in October, I would spend an amazing week at the Kripalu Yoga Center in Stockbridge, Massachussetts (which I didn’t even know existed a year ago) to complete the second level of this training.
Thanks to these two courses, Karmic Sweets, as I knew it, evolved (and is still evolving) into a wellness blog. On top of that, I will start offering meditations sessions locally in the new year and hope to organise workshops and an off-site retreat in the fall.
In between all these exciting things, I am also focused on finishing my first novel and developing quick, healthy recipes to share with all of you. I’m so excited!
Needless to say, as I get ready to set my intentions for 2018, I can only hope that it will be even more amazing than this past year, although I already feel like it will be. The past year was a time of healing, nurturing and learning to love myself unconditionally. The next year will be about rising up and being fearless while I finally chase my dreams.
What dreams will you chase in 2018?
